Submission Guidelines for Authors

0.Types of submissions

Submissions are limited to review papers and full-length research papers with not less than 6 pages (≦6) as a general rule.

1.Title, author information and keywords

  • Title should be concise and informative.
  • Provide all authors names and full addresses
  • Provide 4 to 6 keywords describing the manuscript

2.Abstract

The abstract should clearly state the objective of the study or review, the methods used (where applicable), and summarizing results and conclusions. Please provide an abstract of 110 (6 lines) to 180 words (10 lines). Avoid abbreviations and references in this abstract.

3.Introduction

The introduction should set the study in context by briefly reviewing relevant knowledge of the subject; follow this with a concise statement of the objectives of the study.

4.Materials and Methods

Provide sufficient information for other workers to repeat the study. If well-established methods are used, please give a reference to the technique and provide full details of any modifications.

5.Results

The results should read as a narrative leading the reader through the investigations performed. Referencing and mention of others studies are permitted in the Results section where necessary or helpful.

6.Discussion

Should not simply re-state results, but should put them in the broader context and highlight the importance and originality of the work.

7.Acknowledgements and Funding

Please be as brief as possible. Please detail all of the sources of funding relevant to the research reported in the following format: This work was supported by the XX Research Council (grant number yyy).

8.References

All references cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference list. However, if a reference consists of only a web address, cite it with the URL of Website accessed.

Reference list

  • The list of references should only include works have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works should not be mentioned in the manuscript.
  • Reference citations in the text should be identified by numbers in square brackets. Where there are greater than or equal to four authors (≧4) , list the first three authors and then use et al.
  • Always use the standard abbreviation of a journal’s name according to the Science and Engineering Journal Abbreviations, see https://woodward.library.ubc.ca/research-help/journal-abbreviations/#jatop
  • If you are unsure, please use the full journal title.

Unpublished work

  • Articles accepted for publication but not yet published may be listed as ‘in press’ in the reference list, using the current year as the publication year.

Figures and Tables

  • All Figures and Tables should be numbered using Arabic numerals.
  • Figures and Tables should always be cited in consecutive numerical order.
  • For each Figure and Table, please provide Figure and Table captions explaining the components of them.
  • If any magnification is used in the photographs, indicate this using scale bars within the Figures themselves.
