Prof. Masa Takashi Memorial Symposium

Dr. Masahisa Takashi, Professor Emeritus of Aoyama Gakuin University, SEM Fellow and a Past President, passed away on August 30, 2013, at the age of 74. His research interests included the time-dependent behavior of polymers. He studied the mechanics of time-dependent materials such as the crack grows behavior of rubbers. He also studied experimental techniques for studying the mechanics of time-dependent materials such as photoviscoelasticity. He was a past editorial board member of the International Journal of the Mechanics of Time-dependent Materials, and in Karuizawa in 2005 he hosted the International Conference on Mechanics of Time-dependent Materials.
This symposium is planned to discuss not only the state-of-the-art technology of the Mechanics of Time-dependent Materials, but also to share with Masa’s memory. Please join us in this symposium.
